Here's how homeschool record-keeping generally works in Idaho, and how FaithSchool keeps your hours, attendance, and portfolio organized so you can prove it when someone asks.
What this jurisdiction expects
Under the HSLDA framework this is a no-notice state: families generally teach without filing paperwork. Always confirm the current rules before you rely on this.
We show the published HSLDA regulation tier here rather than specific hour, day or filing numbers, because those vary and change. Confirm the exact, current requirements with the official source below and HSLDA before you rely on them.
What to keep on file in Idaho
Checked against the official Idaho sources listed at the bottom of this page — these are the records those sources describe, not general habits. Rules change; the official regulator stays the arbiter.
- Idaho Code 33-202 asks parents of children aged 7 up to 16 to provide instruction in subjects commonly and usually taught in Idaho public schools.
- Private instruction by, or at the direction of, the parent or guardian satisfies the statute on its own terms.
- Alternatively the child is enrolled in a public, charter, or private school for a period each year equal to the public-school session.
- The statute text contains no registration, notice-to-district, record-keeping, or testing step for parent-directed instruction.
