Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how FaithSchool uses cookies and similar browser storage on the web app. It is written for Christian homeschool parents who need a clear, practical record — not a vendor catalog and not legal counsel. FaithSchool is a family planner for lessons, attendance, hours, grades, skill assessments, and a short daily devotional. Those school records belong in the family account. They are not raw material for a third-party advertising profile.
On public pages and in the signed-in web app, a cookie banner offers Accept all, Reject non-essential, or Manage choices. Analytics cookies and marketing cookies stay off until you opt in. Essential cookies and local storage keep sign-in, security, language, app preferences, and the consent choice itself working. Those essentials cannot be switched off inside FaithSchool, because the web app would then forget who is signed in or what you already decided.
Why a homeschool family should read this
A homeschool week already carries enough paper: lesson titles, hours, attendance, and a report card you may later need. Cookie choices should stay as small as that week. This page tells you what the FaithSchool web app needs to stay signed in, what optional measurement can do after you say yes, and how to change your mind. It does not rank browsers, it does not list every possible third-party cookie that might appear if you follow a link off faithschool.app, and it does not replace the Privacy Policy.
If you landed here because a search snippet looked thin, here is the honest product picture. FaithSchool is for parents who plan a Christian homeschool or a faith-shaped school-support week. Cookies on this site exist so that planner can load, so a consent choice can persist, and — only if you accept optional cookies — so we can see whether onboarding, planning, devotionals, and records workflows actually work. Family lesson notes, student names, hours, and grades stay in the family account.
Essential cookies
Essential cookies and local storage keep sign-in, security, language, app preferences and consent choices working. They are required for the service and cannot be disabled inside FaithSchool. Typical examples include the browser remembering that you already answered the cookie banner, keeping an authenticated session after you sign in with email or Google, and holding interface preferences such as language so the next page is not a surprise.
Clearing site data in your browser will also clear those essentials. After that, you will see the cookie banner again and you may need to sign in again. That is expected. It is not a penalty. Private or locked-down browsing can also block local storage; in that case the banner may reappear more often because FaithSchool cannot save the choice on that device.
If you use the native iOS wrapper, the in-app cookie banner is not shown the same way as on the open web. Native sign-in and storage follow the app platform. This page is the web cookie policy. For account data, children's information, and deletion, use the Privacy Policy.
Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand whether onboarding, planning, devotional and records workflows are working. They stay off unless you accept analytics cookies. On the web, optional product analytics is gated by that choice. When the preference is off, FaithSchool does not treat analytics storage as granted for the web measurement tag. When the preference is on, the web app may send product-usage events such as page views and first-party workflow events so we can see if a parent can finish onboarding or mark a lesson complete.
Analytics is for product quality, not for rebuilding your homeschool file as an audience. Student names, lesson notes, attendance rows, and grades are family records. We do not use those records to build third-party advertising profiles. You can reject analytics and still plan the week, log hours, and keep the family record.
If a measurement identifier is not configured in a given environment, optional analytics simply has nothing to send. This page does not publish a live vendor inventory or measurement IDs. Those values change by environment and are not something a parent needs in order to decide.
Marketing cookies
Marketing cookies may be used to measure campaigns and paid acquisition. They stay off unless you accept marketing cookies. FaithSchool does not use family homeschool records to build third-party advertising profiles. Campaign measurement is a separate preference from product analytics. You can accept analytics and still reject marketing, or reject both.
When marketing cookies are off, FaithSchool treats marketing measurement as denied. Click identifiers from paid campaigns are not kept for measurement until you opt in. When marketing cookies are on, the web app may measure whether a campaign visit later became a signup or a plan choice. That is campaign accounting. It is not permission to sell the family school file.
Paid ads, App Store campaigns, and social publishing stay under human control. This policy does not claim that a specific ad network is always loaded on every page. It describes the consent gate that already exists in the product: marketing measurement waits for an explicit yes.
How the consent banner works
The first time a browser on the open web reaches FaithSchool without a saved choice, a footer banner appears. Accept all turns analytics and marketing cookies on. Reject non-essential leaves both off and keeps only essentials. Manage choices lets you set analytics and marketing independently, then save. After a choice is saved, the banner hides.
Signed-in families can also persist that choice to the family account so later browsers can pick it up. A local grant on this browser is not silently overwritten by a default deny from a later signup step. If Firestore sync fails, the local cookie choice still applies; you can confirm it again from Settings.
Changing your choices
You can change cookie preferences from Settings > Privacy & notifications after signing in. The same screen also covers email and push topics, which are not cookies. Transactional account, security, and billing emails stay on because they operate the service. Marketing email and push stay off until you opt in there.
You can also clear your browser storage for faithschool.app to reset the cookie banner. After a reset, essentials and optional cookies start over. If you clear cookies globally, other sites will also forget you. Prefer a site-specific clear when you only want to revisit FaithSchool choices.
Browser controls
Every major desktop and mobile browser lets you block, delete, or restrict cookies and site data. Open the privacy or cookies section in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge and look for site data for faithschool.app. You can block third-party cookies in the browser even if you accepted optional cookies here. Browser controls sit above this site. If the browser blocks storage, FaithSchool cannot force optional tags to run, and it may also be unable to remember a consent choice.
This page does not walk through every browser menu, because those menus change. Use the browser's own help for the current clicks. Do not send screenshots of cookies, tokens, or account sessions to support unless a human asks and you have redacted secrets.
What this page does not claim
This is orientation for parents, not legal advice and not a guarantee about every third-party script on the wider internet. We describe the three categories the product actually implements: essential, analytics, and marketing. We do not invent a list of unnamed trackers. We do not claim cookies make a family compliant with a state affidavit or with Brazilian education-law paperwork. Records, hours, and transcripts are a different product surface.
The Privacy Policy explains account data, children's information, vendors at a category level, and deletion. The Terms of Use cover acceptable use of the planner. Pricing explains the free student and paid family plans. If a sentence here and a sentence there ever diverge, the Privacy Policy governs personal data; this page governs cookie and similar-storage choices on the web.
